Our Campaign Goals
In America, we are stronger when we come together to work in the best interest of our country. Fixing our U.S. immigration system is critical to ensuring our country’s future prosperity. To achieve this goal, our campaign is calling on policymakers to:
- Keep families together whenever possible. The federal government should use discretion whenever possible to protect parents of minor children from deportation. Parents who are detained or deported should be able to make decisions regarding their child’s care to ensure their child’s safety and prevent their child from entering foster care.
Preserve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The DACA program has enabled more than 740,000 undocumented young people who were brought to the U.S. as children pursue their higher education goals and career goals and contribute to the U.S. economy. Preserving this program will ensure that these youths can continue to give back the country where they have been raised and educated.
Pass federal immigration reform. Congress should pass immigration reform legislation that includes a path to citizenship so that families will have long-term stability and be able to fully contribute to the economy and civic society.
- Ensure all children in America are connected to the resources they need to grow and thrive. Federal and state policymakers should promote policies that provide all children, regardless of their immigration status or that of their parents’, with access to the supports that every child needs to grow up healthy.
